Getting registration forms right

What's the right amount of information to glean from your users during registration? We have an unconventional answer.

To us, it's all about the database and the household account.

Your database is the core of your new capabilities. All of the information that you gather in your registration process is fed into the database, waiting for you to slice and dice.

So, to plan for a successful season, think about the reports you want to run. What information is most important to your organization? Did you always wish that you knew how many kids from your county registered, or from a certain school district?

Once you're uncovered the key information, set up your registration forms to make sure that you can capture it easily. Use dropdowns to prevent spelling errors for long answers, buttons for yes and no. It's worth some time during setup, because those reports can be invaluable in understanding your organization.
